Vintage 1940's Smoky Quartz Art Deco 14k Rose Gold Ring Size 7 Asscher Cut 14g
For your consideration is a wonderful Art Deco Large Vintage Smoky Quartz 14k Rose Gold Ring. I took this into a jewelry shop (actually 2) and they both said the stone is smoky quartz, the ring band and setting is 14k rose gold, and that it is probably from the 1940s or 1950s. This is considered an Art Deco Statement Cocktail piece. Research has led be to believe this is an Asscher cut gemstone. Both said they could not tell me how many carats the stone was unless they took the ring apart. This is a size 7 ring. When I weighed the ring in its entirety it weighs 14.0 grams and 70.0 carats on my scale-remember this includes the rose gold band and setting so this is not an accurate weight of the carats of the smoky topaz stone. This is a very large beautiful gemstone-just look at it compared to my hand! It is stamped "14K" on the inside of the band. I love how the rose gold setting just hugs the stone and lets the gemstone be the center of attention. The stone itself measures approx 13/16" (20.63mm) long and 11/16" (17.46mm) wide!
